Africa

When I arrived in Malawi in 2016, there was a team of 2 staff working with four congregations. We now have a team of several individuals partnering with a significantly increased number of congregations across Malawi and mobilizing a large group of volunteers to provide physical and spiritual care for people with disabilities and promote water and sanitation solutions. I’m grateful to have been part of the growth of Kingdom Workers Malawi and am excited to serve South Sudanese, Nigerians, Kenyan, Zambia, Uganda, and hopefully, additional communities in my role as Africa Regional Director!

Recently, I met a volunteer named Tabiya. Tabiya learned to sew through Kingdom Workers’ vocational training scholarship program for volunteers. She now uses her skills to generate income for her family as well as make clothes for children with disabilities for free. The Disability Ministry team at her church contributes fabric to this work. Volunteers like Tabiya and her team are testaments to how God is working through this Ministry to provide for His children.

Having served with international missions work for over a decade, I've experienced many joyous, rewarding days and many hard days. God has used these past years to teach me, challenge me, and humble me. Meeting dedicated volunteers like Tabiya and seeing new people come to church has been a tremendous blessing. I have also served without a support network and know that, at times, I have needed additional prayer and accountability from others. I believe that having a group of allies who are closely connected to Kingdom Workers Africa mission programs will make this work stronger. Having family and friends support me not only makes this outreach possible but will provide ongoing encouragement to me as I serve in this new role.
