In Japan where the vast majority of people know little about Christianity, opportunities to share the gospel are all around. Introduce people to the love of Jesus and lead conversational English classes for two months in Mito, Japan this fall.

Your time in Japan

Anticipated activities
Lead a variety of conversational English classes each week
Continue to foster relationships with the children and families attending Megumi Lutheran Church
Develop relationships with Kingdom Workers staff and other professionals

Skills/characteristics
Outgoing and personable
Comfortable speaking in front of a group
Experience with ESL is a helpful but not required
Willing to live in a culture different than their own for an extended period of time

 

Additional details

Transportation
Flight to Japan and train or bus to Mito. Will utilize local transportation. 

Housing
Apartment in Mito, Japan will be provided 

Meals
Funds will be provided to cover food, job-related travel, and miscellaneous expenses.

Preparation
We facilitate orientation to help you prepare for your time volunteering. 

Support raising
Fundraising is not required for this trip but we highly encourage it. Fundraising for mission work is a great way surround yourself with a network of people who will physically, emotionally, and spiritually encourage you. Further details about fundraising will be available. 

Immunizations
All routine vaccinations should be up to date. Check the CDC website for information on recommended vaccines.
