DIY Home Repair Workshops

Support your community by helping families care for and repair their homes. 

Have a background in construction and live in or near Whiteriver, AZ? Want to share your skills with your neighbors to help them repair their homes? Volunteer your time to share your knowledge with community members on the White Mountain Apache Reservation.

Information

We are looking for 10-20 local community members to volunteer their time and skills to lead or help with DIY (Do-It-Yourself) home repair workshops so that community members near you can care for and repair their homes. 

Overview

Location: Whiteriver Lutheran Church on Oak Street (White Mountain Apache Reservation)

When: Saturday mornings, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Time commitment: Based on volunteer availability 

Volunteer requirements: Must live in or near Whiteriver, Arizona

 

Your time during a workshop

DIY workshops teach everything from plumbing to installing tile to fixing drywall. Everyone in the community is invited to attend these free workshops. Each session focuses on learning and practicing a new skill so that community members can repair and maintain their homes. As a volunteer, you will lead or help with these workshops, teaching a skill or trade that you are knowledgeable about. You’ll share your faith in Jesus, provide spiritual encouragement, and invite participants to church.
