Build Up Volunteer Mentor

Work alongside teens to teach construction skills and build confidence through home and small building repair, remodeling, and construction.

Change the future for young people by teaching them valuable trade skills. Youth participants for this program will come from Kingdom Prep or Rawhide. These organizations serve kids who are struggling to find their way and succeed. By providing construction skills training you can give them a way to better their lives, increase their self-esteem, and create a path for them to have a productive job.

Information

Serve on Build Up projects alongside teens to improve their construction skills, build their self-esteem, and encourage them with God's love.

Time commitment: Based on volunteer availability

Your time on a project

As a volunteer mentor you will work alongside participants during a project. The connections and friendships you form here will enable you to have open and honest conversations about faith with young people. It will also provide you with the space to share your construction skills with interested young people.

Right now our projects in Milwaukee meet on Fridays from 8:00AM to 3:00PM. The day begins with a devotion and then assignments for the day are provided.

Types of projects

In projects identified by Kingdom Workers, youth will learn planning and organization, use of tools, and skills in areas such as framing, minor plumbing and electrical repair, roofing, demolition, and more.
