This need represents a huge opportunity for young people to start a career in an in-demand industry. It also means that when churches, schools, and individuals want to start a building project, help can be hard to come by. And houses can quickly become unsafe to live in when homeowners don’t have the knowledge and means to repair their own homes. That’s why our construction programs seek to provide skills training and offer additional support for building projects. All while connecting everything we do to Christ.
Our Build Up program in the United States connects young people with opportunities to acquire skills in the trades while guiding them in their faith life.
Our DIY workshops on the Apache reservation provide community members with the skills and knowledge they need to repair and fix up their own homes.
Our Builders For Christ program provides churches, schools, and ministries with a volunteer workforce to reduce labor costs so that they can focus on their core mission—connecting people to Christ.
94% of surveyed Build Up apprentices said they learned something about construction.
4,000 people last year were served by our construction programs.
Attendance at church events has grown by 28% on average after a Builders For Christ project has been completed.
Kenny's life was changed when he connected with our Build Up: Mentoring Teens in Trades program. Now he has a solid future ahead of him, one where he can be a blessing not only to himself and his family, but to his community as well.
