Major Gifts Officer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Primary duty and responsibility is to work with current and prospective individual supporters of Kingdom Workers
  • Thank them for support, learn as much as possible about the donors, share our ministry opportunities, and solicit specific current and future major gift commitments
  • Present multi-year five and six-figure gift proposals to current and prospective major donors
  • Give direction to the KW Mission Advancement Team, including Marketing, to help prepare a case for support and other communication collateral specifically designed for potential major donors
  • Give direction to the KW Mission Advancement Team and Advancement Services Manager to create and improve the discovery and identification elements of the Major Gift Program operations
  • Conduct research and network expansion to identify links and relationships between prospective major donors and KW
  • Attend, invite, entertain guests and perhaps help plan special events associated with cultivation of major donors
  • Maintain high level of awareness and training in current major gift practices and methods through ongoing continuing education and professional development
  • Prepare personal acknowledgment (written, electronic & phone) of gifts received as a result of the KW major gift operation
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Education, Experience, and Characteristics 

  • Must demonstrate alignment with Kingdom Workers' Statement of Faith
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Skilled at public relations and public speaking
  • Ability to ensure all documents and records are properly maintained, and a willingness to provide continual reporting of activity and results
  • Ability to participate in a work environment that fosters open and honest two-way communication
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and deliver quality results on time, while working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must possess strong communication skills
  • Be comfortable with the use of technology and software platforms
  • Have proven ability to work cross-culturally while building relationships and working collaboratively with others

 

Location and Travel Expectations

  • Position is based in Waukesha, WI
  • Position is based in the United States
  • Position can be remote as approved by management
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time
  • Ability to travel by road, air or other means as may be encountered in a developing country
  • Ability to happily spend time and work in remote areas
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Valid passport, or ability to obtain one, required

 

Other Conditions

  • Frequently required to walk, sit, stand, and/or lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
  • Continually required to talk and hear.
  • Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions including outdoor exposure.
  • Occasional exposure to bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials.
