Builders For Christ Coordinator

Reports To: Director of Kingdom Workers Construction

Status: Full-time or Part-time

The Builders for Christ Coordinator helps with the daily program needs at multiple locations. Key responsibilities include managing material acquisition for upcoming projects, helping the volunteer teams in the different areas stay organized with planning and sourcing materials, working on-site with local volunteers, and building strong relationships with youth and partner organizations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate volunteers at build sites
  • Coordinate churches and projects to always have a full calendar of projects
  • Organize materials needs at job site and pre job site
  • Organize transportation or transport tool trailers
  • Organize transportation or transport RVs
  • Communication with onsite activities to ensure that projects run smoothly
  • Attend BFC meetings with Advisory Committee and Project Managers to coordinate program needs and resources
  • Attend BFC Advisory Committee meetings to develop a relationship and deepen the understanding of how projects run
  • Communicate with volunteers to ensure good relationships when not on the build site
  • Assist with the other Kingdom Workers construction programs, such as Build Up, as requested
  • Other duties as assigned


Education, Experience and Characteristics

  • Must be a member in good standing with a church formally affiliated with the Confessional Evangelical Lutheran Conference. For more information click here.
  • Familiar with the construction process and the sequence of a construction project
  • Organized self-starter
  • Ability to participate in a work environment that fosters open and honest two-way communication
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and deliver quality results on time, while working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must possess strong communication skills
  • Be comfortable with the use of technology and software platforms
  • Have proven ability to work cross-culturally while building relationships and working collaboratively with others


Location and Travel Expectations

  • Position is based in Wisconsin
  • Position can be partially remote as approved by management
  • Ability to travel 30% of the time
  • Ability to travel by road, air or other means as may be encountered in a developing country
  • Ability to happily spend time and work in remote areas
  • Valid passport, or ability to obtain one, required
  • Valid driver’s license required


Other Conditions

  • Frequently required to walk, sit, stand, and/or lift up to 30 pounds
  • Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
  • Continually required to talk and hear
  • Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions including outdoor exposure
  • Occasional exposure to bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials


About Personal Support Raising

Kingdom Workers is an independent nonprofit organization that raises funds to support our work across the world. Much of our funding comes through traditional nonprofit practices of regular appeals to our individual donors and formal grant requests to foundations and corporations with giving missions that match the work we do. We also value personal support networks, where individuals provide financial and spiritual support to specific staff positions. Because we believe it is important, all staff are trained in how to develop their own network. Raising a personal support network is required for this position.

  • Attend training and work with a support raising Coach who encourages and guides you as you generate and maintain financial support for your ministry.
  • Raise a set amount in support annually.
  • Regularly engage with members of your support network about the impact of and challenges to your ministry.
