What C.S. Lewis Can Teach Us About Faith in Action
Many know C.S. Lewis as the author of The Chronicles of Narnia or one of the 20th century’s greatest Christian apologists. His writings have inspired millions to think deeply about faith, reason, and the nature of God. But Lewis wasn’t just a thinker—he was a man of action. His life and work remind us that Christianity isn’t just about what we believe; it’s about how we live.
Faith Without Action Is Hollow
In Mere Christianity, Lewis wrote:
“To have faith in Christ means, of course, trying to do all that He says. There would be no sense in saying you trusted a person if you would not take his advice.”
True faith isn’t passive—it compels us to act. At Kingdom Workers, we believe in a faith that moves. That belief is why we serve foster families, support people with disabilities, provide clean water, and help young people develop skills for their future. Faith-driven service transforms not only the lives we touch but our own hearts as well.

Lewis also reminded us in The Weight of Glory:
“Next to the Blessed Sacrament itself, your neighbor is the holiest object presented to your senses.”
Every person we meet is deeply loved by God. Our work goes beyond meeting physical needs—it's about reflecting Christ and proclaiming the gospel. Whether providing water to a community or offering comfort to someone who has suffered, we are called to love our neighbors with both words and deeds so they can see Jesus’ unconditional love.
How You Can Put Your Faith Into Action
Inspired by Lewis’ wisdom, here are three concrete ways to live out your faith today:

- Give generously – Lewis believed that generosity was a fundamental Christian virtue. If you feel called, consider supporting a mission that shares both physical help and the hope of the gospel.
