A Beacon of Hope in Malawi

Lombani Chekha, a Malawian young man, was inspired by his passion for service and the struggles faced by his community members. He discovered Kingdom Workers in 2018, during a church service in Usisya Lutheran church (Nkhata Bay district). Lombani approached Pastor K Msiska, who was wearing a Kingdom Workers’ T-shirt, and was intrigued by the group’s mission. Pastor Msiska shared his knowledge with Lombani, and he became even more interested in joining the group. Then Lombani moved to Lilongwe in 2018, which is closer to the organization’s headquarters.

Malawi Cyclone Emergency Relief Efforts

When Cyclone Freddy hit Malawi, our staff rapidly pivoted to do their part and help with the immediate needs of our Kingdom Workers volunteers as well as the communities we serve. Some areas are completely inaccessible due to damaged roads, making disaster relief efforts and connecting with our partners especially challenging. With thousands without power, contaminated water, and a rising death toll, we're quickly working to reach nearly 1,500 volunteers and individuals in our WASH and disability programs to provide aid.

Kingsley's Story

Growing up, I always knew I wanted to do something to help others.

As a kid, I dreamed of working in a hospital. I wanted to be able to help people, especially my friends and family. But I doubted myself and worried I wouldn’t be able to heal complicated conditions or diseases.

Afterall, everyone knew me as the pastor’s son, not an aspiring doctor.

Thankfully, the events of my life led me to a place where I am not only serving people’s physical needs but their spiritual needs as well.
