Meet Alan From Indonesia!

Get ready to explore Indonesia, meet a boy named Alan, and learn how you can share Jesus’ love with children all around the world. Along the way, you’ll find fun crafts, coloring pages, and activities that remind us how thankful we can be for God’s blessings.

1. Let’s Travel! Learn About Indonesia

Indonesia is a beautiful country made up of thousands of islands! It’s known for its tropical forests, colorful coral reefs, and friendly people. Many families there live in small villages surrounded by palm trees and rice fields.

Some families don’t have all the same comforts we have, like easy access to doctors or schools. Many people in these communities aren’t Christians yet, so our volunteers are needed more than ever to share His love. And for some families, this might be the first time they’ve even heard about Jesus!

2. Deliver Care with Kingdom Workers Volunteers

In Indonesia, many children with disabilities—like Alan—don’t have the same things we do. They might not have wheelchairs, medicine, or even access to a doctor. Kingdom Workers’ volunteers travel to bring simple therapy tools and training that help families care for their children. But most importantly, volunteers also share the best gift of all—the message that Jesus loves every child!

As you count and follow the path on your activity sheet, imagine you’re helping deliver hope, care, and the love of Jesus to children in Indonesia. Each step you take helps remind them that they are seen, loved, and valued by God.

Activity: Count by 2’s and follow the correct path to help the volunteers reach families like Alan’s!

Activity: Trace, color and decorate your snowman!

3. Snowman Craft – God's Love

This winter season, we’re making a Snowman to remind us of God’s love! Start by tracing and coloring your snowman. Then, decorate each part of your snowman. On each section, write or draw something that reminds you of God’s love—like your family, your friends, your home, or your favorite activities.

As you create, take a moment to think about children like Alan in Indonesia. Alan loves Jesus very much, but his life is not always easy. He doesn’t have a wheelchair to move around, and his family doesn’t have doctors or therapists nearby to help with his disability. Many days, Alan stays in bed while his parents care for him as best they can.

“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” – Psalm 107:1

4. Meet Alan’s Family

This is Alan’s family in Indonesia! You can see his mom, dad, and brother standing outside their home. They live in a small village surrounded by trees and bright green plants. Their house might look different from yours—it’s made with simple materials, but it’s filled with love.

Alan isn’t in this picture because he has cerebral palsy, which makes it hard for him to move or sit up and even talk. Most days, he stays inside where his parents can help keep him comfortable and safe.

Even though Alan can’t walk or talk, his family loves him very much. They feed him, keep him clean, and sing to him. His mom and dad work hard every day to care for him, and his brother loves helping too.

5. Family Portrait Activity

Alan lives in Indonesia with his mom, dad, and brothers. His family works hard every day to take care of him and show him love since his disability means he can’t walk or talk. Now it’s your turn! In each frame, draw someone you’re thankful for—like your parents, grandparents, friends, or teachers. Let’s fill the page with love and gratitude!

6. Alan and His Brother

Alan has a brother who loves to play and help take care of him. They are very close, even though Alan can’t move around. His brother helps keep him company and brings him joy every day. Together, they laugh, tell stories, and find creative ways to play. Sometimes they build towers with blocks or watch the clouds drift by outside their home.

Alan’s brother makes sure he never feels left out and always finds ways to make him smile. Their love for each other reminds everyone around them what it means to be a family.

7. Pray for Alan

Coral Cady-Metcalfe, a Kingdom Workers staff member who visits Indonesia often, prays with Alan and his family. She reminds them that God loves them and is always with them. Can we pray for Alan, too?

A prayer you can say:

"Dear Jesus,

Thank You for loving children all over the world. Please be with Alan and his family.

Help them feel Your love every day. Teach me to share Your kindness with others, too.

Amen."
